About Us

Group of Supported Accommodation providers that decided to create a democratic representative body. The decision to create this association was made during a meeting on the 3rd October 2023 that had the participation of more than 150 individuals representing more than 100 current providers.

To promote and advance the quality and standards of supported
accommodation services in England.

To advocate for policies and practices that enhance the well-being and rights of young people in supported accommodation.

To provide a platform for collaboration, communication, and information-sharing among supported accommodation providers.

To represent the interests of supported accommodation providers to government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other relevant stakeholders.

To provide training, resources, and support to members to improve their services.

Interim Board

With the mandate to create the constitution of the Supported Accommodation Association and to start representing its members, following the initial meeting on the 3rd October 2023, the SAA Interim Board is composed by a Steering Group and providers nominated to represent each geographic area.

The Steering Group and the Area Representatives, will lead the Supported Accommodation Association until the first the AGM where the Board of Directors will be elected.

Powers of the Association
a) To enter into contracts, agreements, or other legal arrangements necessary for the fulfilment of its objectives.
b) To receive, hold, manage, and dispose of property, funds, and assets for the benefit of the Association.
c) To take legal action or legal proceedings as necessary to protect the
interests and rights of the Association and its members.
d) To establish committees, subcommittees, or working groups for specific purposes or initiatives, as deemed necessary by the Board of Directors.

Membership
The Association will have three types of members: Effective Members (providers registered with Ofsted), Provisional Members (organization in the process of becoming registered), and Individual Members (individuals who have an interest in Supported Accommodation but do not provide such services).

During the current registration process, it should be understood that Effective Members are the organizations that can legally operate supported accommodation services, even if they are not yet fully registered with Ofsted.
