Today the Supported Accommodation Association (SAA) had an introductory meeting with The Children’s Homes Association (The CHA).
The CHA warmly welcomed all supported accommodation providers and the SAA to the regulated space, recognising our importance as major stakeholders.
Both the SAA and the CHA acknowledged the potential for collaboration on various issues and initiatives that would greatly benefit young people. The first initiatives are likely to be:
– Demand analysis of which areas urgently require a supply of placements for young people under DoLs.
– Establishing best practices for transitioning from Children’s Homes to Supported Accommodation.
SAA greatly appreciated the advice shared by the CHA regarding the establishment of a membership association and a care-experienced advisory board.
Moving forward, the SAA and the CHA will maintain regular meetings to further strengthen our working relationship, and continue providing valuable benefits to their members.
