The Supported Accommodation Association was recently promoted as a democratic, not-for-profit association to represent the voices of supported accommodation providers.
Recently, we were made aware that there is another proposal for an association using the same name, that is planned to be launched next month. We’re happy to inform, to reduce confusion, that the “other” Supported Accommodation Association, will revert to their original name: NASAP.
While we believe that unity would be important and should be a goal, we also believe that an association should be based in democratic representation and election between its members, where everyone can elect and be elected for the leadership of the association (as it was approved by the participants on the meeting that created this Association).
We have demonstrated our interest to work together with NASAP, in all areas that would benefit the objectives of the association, as voted in this weeks meeting.
We are also confident that the regulators and industry partners will listen to the voices of providers who are represented by a democratically run association such as ours.
