Training Opportunities

We’re pleased to announce the upcoming training sessions for December from Social Care Skills, a trusted member of the Supported Accommodation Association (SAA). As a trusted partner of the SAA, Social Care Skills offers high-quality training tailored to the needs of our sector. Below are the details of their December sessions:

December Training Sessions

Supported Accommodation Inspection Framework – 4th December, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
This interactive workshop will help you understand the framework’s principles and inspection processes, empowering you to engage confidently with inspectors. This training is perfect for supported accommodation providers and local authority representatives.

Psychologically Informed Practices – 10th December, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Participants will explore trauma-informed approaches, attachment theory, and the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on development. Learn how to create psychologically informed environments that promote healing, recovery, and growth, while adapting your methods to accommodate different learning styles.

Regulations Clinics – 12th December, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Notification of Serious Events (Ofsted) & Quality of Care/Support Reviews
These sessions will explore into the critical areas of serious incident reporting and quality assurance, ensuring you’re well-prepared to meet the rigorous standards of Regulations 27 and 32 in Supported Accommodation and Regulations 40 and 45 in Children’s Homes.

Ofsted Inspection Readiness
Date: 16th December, 10:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Led by Rachel Holden, former Senior HMI at Ofsted. this course will provide expert guidance on what inspectors are looking for and how to ensure your service is fully prepared.

SALP Development Session: Workforce Plan
Date: 17th December, 11:00 PM – 1:00 PM
A workforce plan is essential under regulations for supported accommodation, ensuring that staff levels, skills, and training meet the needs of residents. It provides structure for staffing, development, and support, promoting a stable and effective service.
